Good for international payments

I used their Global Payment Processing for my small business, and it actually made things a lot smoother. I was worried about all the different currencies and stuff, but it handled it without a hitch. It wasn't super instant, but the transactions went through and my international customers had no issues checking out, which is a win in my book.

Decent service, some onboarding delay

I requested a free consultation to understand their Merchant of Record Services for our expansion plans. The initial call was quite informative, and they clearly laid out how they handle things like International Shipping Logistics and Tax Compliance. The process of getting everything set up was a bit slower than I anticipated, maybe an extra week or so, which made me a little anxious. However, once we were onboarded, the system for handling payments and getting our products to new markets has been pretty solid. It's definitely a valuable service for D2C brands, just be prepared for a small wait on the front end.

I'm thinking about eBrands but also looked at Global-e. What's the main difference, like why would I pick one over the other?

D David 1 month ago
Global-e is pretty established, but eBrands talks a lot about their AI tech, Apollo, which sounds more advanced for optimizing stuff. Might depend on how much you value that.

I think eBrands focuses more on the 'Merchant of Record' side of things, taking on more of the risk and compliance headaches, which is a big deal for international. Global-e is good too, but maybe less hands-on with that specific part.

Hey, I'm looking at using eBrands for my D2C store. How long does it actually take to get everything set up and start selling internationally?

E Elena V. 1 month ago
From what I hear, it's pretty quick. Like, they handle a lot of the backend stuff fast, so you're not waiting around forever.

Yeah, I think I saw something that said it can be as little as a few weeks for the core setup, then they just integrate with your existing store. It's not like building a whole new site.

Is there any way to get a discount on their platform fees? Like a free trial or something before committing?

C Colin B. 1 month ago
I haven't seen any public discount codes or free trials like for consumer software. It's more of a B2B service.

They don't do 'discounts' or free trials in the traditional sense, from what I know. You usually book a demo or a free consultation, and then they give you a custom quote based on your needs. It's not like buying an app, you know?

Is eBrands just for really big brands, or can a smaller D2C get in on this without crazy high fees?

K Kate 2 months ago
It's custom pricing, so I think it scales. You'd need to talk to them for a demo to see if it fits your budget, but they're trying to help brands scale, so probably not just for giants.

Nah, it's not just for huge corporations. They're all about helping D2C brands *scale*, so they definitely work with smaller ones looking to grow. The fees are custom though, so gotta inquire directly.

What kind of payment options do they process for international customers? I need to know if it covers popular local methods.

R Rachel 1 month ago
They handle global payment processing, so I'd imagine they cover a wide range, including local payment methods. That's key for international sales.

Their platform, Apollo, does global payment processing. That usually means they support various currencies and local payment options specific to different regions, which is super important for conversion rates in other countries.
